Sherry M. Stephenson
Sherry M. Stephenson is an international trade policy expert with deep expertise on trade in services. Other areas of focus include regional trade agreements, digitalization, e-commerce and data flows and sustainable development. She is currently a member of the Services Network of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC), and has been a lead author or co-author in various THINK 20 Policy Briefs. She was a Senior Fellow with the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) in Geneva (2013-2018), participated in the Global Trade Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum (2011-2014) and has provided analytical support to the APEC process since 1994.
She has worked with several international and regional organizations, including as Director of the Department of Trade at the Organization of American States during the Free Trade Area of the Americas negotiations (1995-2004). She served as Advisor to the Minister of Trade in Indonesia (1992-1996) and has held positions with the OECD, WTO and UNCTAD Secretariats. She has provided advice to many governments on trade policy issues and has led workshops and capacity-building programmes in countries in the Asia Pacific, African and Latin American regions and has edited three books on services and published more than 60 articles.

What are logistics? From the perspective of late 2022 asking this question may appear ridiculous. The term has been used so much in all aspects of our lives for the last three years that we feel we can intimately relate to it. But do we know what it actually is? The APEC region took the lead in 2022 in pushing forward a better understanding of the important but often underappreciated logistics activities to examine their role in moving essential goods across borders.
